Emos dont necessarily cut themselves, they may be depressed, and its the suicidal-intentional people who will cut, also those who have trouble releasing stress, and those who want attention. Such as the post-suicide cry for help.
Goth is a style of dressing which derived from the femenine stance in the late 1900's, that basicaly stated that girls didn't need to dress for guys anymore, and they could wear what they want, eventualy this changed paths, and we have who the "Goths" are today.

Don't ask where I picked that up, I know many random things.
